Her video has been viewed 45 million times. The charity is now under investigation.
A 19-year-old TikTok creator from Nairobi has become an overnight sensation after releasing a viral exposé of a supposedly philanthropic organization that was allegedly using donations for personal expenses instead of actual charity work.
Going Viral for a Cause
Her 8-minute video, which breaks down financial records and testimonies from former employees, has racked up 45 million views across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube in just three days. The video is now the most-viewed piece of content created by a Kenyan creator in 2026.
The charity in question, which had been operating for 12 years and raising over Ksh 2 billion annually, has since suspended operations pending an independent investigation. Several staff members have reportedly come forward with additional evidence of financial mismanagement.
"I didn't do this to become famous. I did this because I was volunteering there and realized something was seriously wrong. Kids that were supposed to receive school supplies weren't getting them," the creator explained in a follow-up video.
The Kenya Revenue Authority and the NGO board have both opened formal investigations. The creator has been flooded with sponsorship offers and interview requests from major media outlets. She has also launched a Go Fund Me to support actual education initiatives, which has already raised over Ksh 80 million.
Her original viral video has been shared by celebrities, politicians, and international media, sparking conversations about charity accountability across the continent.
